Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": Lawmakers once again look at electing to change voting laws. Democrats hit back again against JobsOhio. And conservative activists who say they were targeted for extra scrutiny by the IRS speak out as they prepare to sue.

Great Lakes protection agreement hearings start this week.
By Karen Kasler - August 25, 2004
After three years of work....an interstate, international agreement on managing and protecting the waters of the Great Lakes. Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Sam Speck says the agreements deal with two big issues regarding removing or diverting water from the lakes. When passed, the compact likely wouldn't affect those who hunt, fish or boat on the lakes, since there's no removal of water involved. It'll likely be ten years before the agreements pass all eight state legislatures, through the Canadian government and then through Congress. The first Ohio hearing on the agreements is tonight in Toledo. More are scheduled throughout September.
