Former President George Bush appeared today before about 300 supporters at a hall in Columbus, the latest in the continuing parade of candidates and family members for both parties. The elder Bush cracked jokes about the family and his wife Barbara.
Bush spoke at length about his son and what it’s like to be the father of a president who was himself a president.
Bush went light on the issues, briefly forecasting a booming economy in a few months, but not bringing up Iraq or the war on terror. He did mention the National Guard memo controversy at CBS, calling it disgraceful and insidious. |
