For more than a decade, Ohio’s largest egg farm, spread across three counties, was accused of being a smelly and fly-infested nuisance - polluting streams and mis-treating the millions of chickens housed there. A couple of years ago, Buckeye Egg Farm was sold to a new owner, and changed its name to Ohio Fresh Eggs. Complaints about flies and pollution are down. But animal rights activists insist the chickens are still suffering under horrendous conditions…and the advocates have a new video they claim proves their point. Ohio Public Radio’s Bill Cohen files this report. |
