Treasurer Jennette Bradley has launched her first campaign for that office. She was appointed treasurer in January 2005, replacing Joe Deters, who was elected Hamilton County prosecutor after a fundraising scandal involving two of his employees. Bradley was lieutenant governor under Bob Taft, the first Ohio governor to be convicted of ethics charges. But Bradley says these Republican scandals don’t make her vulnerable. In the primary, Bradley faces Ashtabula County auditor Sandra O'Brien, who’s blasted Bradley for her pro-choice view on abortion. Bradley says she’s focusing on the issues that directly affect the treasurer’s office, not those that are decided in the legislature. |
