Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Memorial exhibit hopes to open eyes to "human cost of war".
By Karen Kasler - June 9, 2006
A moving memorial about the Iraq war that has been traveling the country comes to the Statehouse on Monday. The "Eyes Wide Open" exhibit hopes to show what its creators say is the cost of war through the display of shoes, to represent the civilians and soldiers killed in the conflict. Madeleine Trichel with the Interfaith Center for Peace in Columbus says part of the exhibit is a display of 3,000 shoes and sandals, representing Iraqi men, women and children. The combat boots are labeled with the names and hometowns of soldiers who've died in Iraq. The exhibit, created by the American Friends Service Committee and the Episcopal Peace Fellowship, is on the west lawn of the Statehouse through Wednesday, June 14.
