Left-leaning activist groups hope to push voters to the polls like conservatives have.

In 2004, President Bush and Republican candidates got a boost on election day from voters who came out to vote – in big numbers – for an Ohio ballot issue banning gay marriage. Now, it appears those on the political left are hoping to use a ballot issue of their own to boost Democratic candidates and causes. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen was there and filed this report:
